vol. 01 – @binsadband Interview

This is my first interview of the year, in the Year of the Fire Horse. Happy Chinese New Year and the second day of Ramadan.

I interviewed them at Oxford Art Factory during the launch of their single, “Days.” Binsad describes their genre as “Soft Loud.”

They’ve also just released their third single, “Bouquet,” today. The track explores the idea of consciously choosing to love someone, even when unfamiliar or unexpected sides of them begin to surface. It reflects on stepping back to see the bigger picture of a relationship, embracing the complexity of a person, and valuing all the small, imperfect pieces that come together to make them who they are.

There’s a bonus question at the very end of the carousel, right after the zodiac question.

vol. 01 – @arcade_sydney

Came straight from North Sydney to the CBD, to Arcade. Played for @inext._ tonight.

I asked the bartender what drink I should get. She asked me what kind of taste I liked. I said bitter. She said, “How about Out of Fashion?” I forgot what was in the mix lol. So you’d better check it out yourself.

vol. 01 – @figjaam

Three hours before the event, I literally asked @ari_kiko for the location of the beach party because I registered my email too late on Humanitix lol.

Fast forward: I somehow ended up in North Sydney via ferry, standing on a beach. The spot wasn’t as secluded as I imagined. From a distance, I could hear the bass humming, so I knew that was my destination.

When I arrived, I said hello to Ari. Then I just stood there for a moment, taking in the view. It was actually a majestic location for a beach party. I ended up talking to people around me.

Some of the conversations went like this:
“How do you feel about Sydney nightlife?”
“Oh, your coffee order is a soy flat white?”
“I haven’t eaten all day, but I’m drunk right now.”
“Heyy, do you want a group photo?!”
“What’s the name of your magazine?”
“Oh wait, we have mutuals on IG!”

Day well spent?
I believe so.
