It’s been a while since I last posted a blog here. I've been busy with work and personal matters. By the way, here's a quick update on my life right now: I'm currently working at STAX as a photographer, color grader, and retoucher. Also, ever since I participated in Your Shot back in 2023, I’ve occasionally been playing at clubs such as The Flinders, Abercrombie, and on boats, as well as at house parties.

New Tomorrow
Hi there, hope you are well. If you read this, you are a lucky person.
I did a test shoot when Sydney is currently in its wettest weather. Gathered all the wardrobes by doing buy-return, and requesting samples to Electric Collective PR. So this is my first test shoot this year with full-on styling that I did myself.

High Fidelity
While I was strolling on the suggestion on Disney+, I stumble upon '“High Fidelity”. It’s a series about Robyn Brooks or so-called Rob who was played by Zoe Kravitz whose mom was in the initial movie played by Lisa Bonet. The series tells us Rob's life, the record store owner named Champion Records who is currently being through a post-heartbreak phase. (spoiler alert)
To be clear, I’m watching the one played by Zoe Kravitz first then watched the initial one played by John Cusack. I think it just meant to be.
Rob was trying to get through the heartbreak by asking the top five list of her heartbreak about what was wrong. Her staff AKA best friends warn her to not go through the list because it would only make her devastated. In the second episode, Rob was accidentally encountered her ex which they got engaged in the past but became separated afterwards.
This is my very first time watching Zoe Kravits playing as an actor in a series. Before, I only know her from the iconic cover of Rolling Stone recreating her mother portrait, Lisa Bonet. I must assure you, she is freaking amazing. She definitely makes me feel what she feel as Rob in High Fidelity. Also, this series kinda encouraging me to go to the record store and grab a vinyl.
I really love how the director portraying the social life in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Seems to relax, easygoing, and intense. Especially the part when socializing and drinking after work is a staple routine. I like the fact the most favourites bar visited by all character are named “Allied” which I found interesting because, Mac, Rob ex is British and Rob is American. Because looking back to World War 2, British and American was joining together to win the fight in Europe against Nazi Germany hence why every country who joins the British in a war effort called Allied. It just my personal opinion but I feel like it must mean something.
While the movie played by John Cusack stated that they went back together, instead, the one played by Zoe Kravits the audience got a revelation about the real reason why they broke up which I think you should watch yourself.
Highly recommended to watch if you are a hopeless romantic nerd.
Plus, enjoy how cute the personality of Zoe Kravits portraying the character.
Tahmyna A.K.A. TRad
Her name is Tahmyna A.K.A. TRad. I first spotted her in Red Rattler, Marrickville playing Techno in Irregular Fit Event. Right at that time, I was 100% sure I wanted to shoot her because she has a unique look. Interestingly, we postpone the shoot for almost 4 months because of the lockdown. But eventually, we manage to meet in June.
Tahmyna is a mixed-blood of Australian-Iranian hence why her name sounds middle eastern. I bet you would love to meet her in person because she has a warm and peppy personality.
Besides DJ-ing, she is studying Law and bartending at one of the pub in Chippendale.
Some of her clothes are hand-written with paint.

Back in mid-2019, I'm quite generous at spending some of my money for film photography. So, I shoot this in 35mm with Ilford Delta 400 and Medium Format with Provia 100f . Thanks to @rewindphotolab for the developing and scanning!
The boys in this photo were from @fivetwentymgt . At that time, I haven't shoot male models for ages. This shoot might be the starting point who makes me shoot more male model afterwards.

[Instagram Archive 5.4.2020] Heaven Know I'm Miserable Know
I start doing street photography when I was in an undergraduate study back in Indonesia. At that time, I was joining a uni photography club. They invited me to stroll around the city of Bandung and taking a photo on the street. At first, I find it boring and tiring because it took some time and efforts to do streets photography.
Fast forward to a few years later, I've been living in Sydney for 2 years. At my spare time, I like to go to a book store and doing some free reading at it (sorry, don't have money to buy lol). I found and images of an angel on the street of New York and I find it fascinating.
It was Peter Lindbergh's in December 1993 and his photos for Harper's Bazaar, where Amber Valletta was given a role as an angel who had untouchably arrived in New York. This shoot was mended to be one of the most delicate and energetically series he has made.
I realized I need to recreate this photo set with my own style and will take it in Sydney CBD. As we live in modern time, we have a luxury of the internet. In there I found a sun compass when I can check the position of the sun at the exact time. In addition, I also have a look myself to check the good shooting spot for this.
I found out the street photography course I took back when I was in undergraduate study taught me a lot about this kind of shooting.
Last but not least, thank you to @phoebsalot @ebonyeathorne and @hunterfranksmakeup for willing to join me strolling the Sydney CBD. I know is tiring but the photo is amazing. Thank you so much!

[Instagram Archive 6.4.2020] Le Mime
I got this idea when I was strolling on Pinterest. I thought it would be a good idea to combine mime makeup and cool styling.
The concept is about a girl who just has a heartbreak. Her sadness will be portrayed with pantomime makeup. No matter how hard she tried to forget, only time can heal her.
Firstly, before we did the shoot, I was meeting with @emilylylylylyly the stylist somewhere in Waterloo area to talk about the concept. Then, she starts showing her portfolios by asking me to go to a news agency and grabbing some magazines on the shelves. I'm impressed because how in the world an expert stylist like her will take my invitation for an unpaid gig? I guess I'm lucky.
Secondly, this is my first time meeting with @anacostamua She is a Portuguese currently residing in Sydney. She has a great mind when it comes to makeup ideas. It was her idea to add on the makeup every time we change the looks. I'm glad I met Ana!
Lastly, we choose @sofofieo because I know she can understand fully this particular concept. Some info about her: has a dutch background, a pro figure skater and love animals.

[Instagram Archive 11.4.2020] Ghost of Victorian Girlfriend
The concept is combining the classic 18th-century queen portrait with a modern twist. It was shoot in my living room at my previous house in Maroubra, NSW.
We use coke, chips and cigarettes to complete the story. At first, I was a bit worried that I'm not gonna make it because this particular concept is risky. Turns out, the results are fantastic!
I'm literally consulting with Maddy first when choosing the right title for this. She has a great mind.

It was Maddy idea to use this title. We got it from Susanna last name 'Oinonen'. I got this idea because there is one time I was binge-watching James Bond saga. My favourite is "The Spy Who Loved Me" who has a famous submarine car. In addition, Mrs O based on Bond Girl because without them, James Bond saga is incomplete.

[Instagram Archive 30.3.2020] How To Jordan
The idea comes up when I really want to shoot a sporty look. But the thing is, I want to copy someone persona and put it on the talent for this. So I choose Michael Jordan. He is one of the best basketball players I ever know. Then, I started scrolling on the internet to see how he act in court.
There is one signature move that he always does before scoring, sticking the tongue out. He copies it from his dad. Based on my research, it's the way for him to show confidence and to tell his teammate he is in the "zone" before shooting.
I'm really grateful I choose Fisa for this. She is young, energetic and keen to try new stuff. She can fully understand my direction and vision for this particular shoot. Thank you so much for making this happened! Also, thank you to Verity for beauty makeup. Great team!

Lockdown & Virtual Shoot
Hi there, I’m currently residing in Sydney, Australia. I’m originally from Bekasi, Indonesia. For the past few months, Australia went on the lockdown to flatten the curve of Covid-19 which means the public must stay at home as much as possible. The greatest challenge of this situation is that we lost the privilege to meet face 2 face which was terrifying. So now video call is the most viable option to stay in touch with the loved one.
I did try shooting via video call or the so-called virtual shoot. Not the most favourites medium of shooting for me, to be honest lol. On one hand, a lot of issue while on the session such as bad reception, blurry video and etc. Also, the direction is really important, otherwise the images look so so. On the other hand, doing a virtual shoot is fun. We learn how to trust the model aesthetic with framing which makes it really natural yet majestic. Because at the end of the day, the one who understands the most about their best angle is the model itself (fight me on this statement lol). In addition, I also have a chance to meet virtually with the models I always want to shoot in Indonesia.
I shoot a couple story for this series but I only attached some of my favourites. Hope you like it :)
Ps. Since the lockdown is easing, will start shooting outdoor again anytime soon. Stay tuned!
